Start with the
question on your mind.
For city-specific reports and evidence, visit your local injury guide. For the steps of a claim, see What to Expect.
Is the first consultation free?
Yes. You can discuss what happened, ask about representation and decide whether to move forward. Bring whatever records you have; you do not need to finish gathering everything before contacting the office.
What does “no fee unless there is a recovery” mean?
Howard’s attorney fee depends on recovering compensation for your case. If there is no recovery, there is no attorney fee. The written representation agreement explains the fee arrangement before you hire the firm.
Will my case have to go to court?
A claim may resolve through negotiation, but a lawsuit may be necessary if responsibility or compensation remains disputed. Filing a lawsuit does not itself mean there will be a trial. The next step depends on the evidence, deadlines and available options.
How long does an injury claim take?
There is no reliable timeline from the accident type alone. Treatment, the availability of records, disputed fault and insurance negotiations all affect timing. Understanding ongoing medical needs can be important before considering a final settlement.
What if I was partly at fault?
Shared fault does not automatically prevent recovery in California. A claimant’s damages may be reduced by their share of responsibility. An insurer’s initial percentage is a position to examine against the evidence, not a reason to assume the matter is settled.
